Are you free a day, a couple of days per week, or free on Saturdays to give back to our community?
We would love to have you help make Lancaster county's hardest hit families warm, safe, and dry in their existing home. We have helped over 480 families and worked side by side with over 150 of the families to lift them out of poverty. We are intentional with meeting their needs both physically and spiritually.
We have rehabbed over 40 Lancaster city blighted homes and provided them to low income first time homebuyers. Would you like to help revitalize neighborhoods in Lancaster city? Provide a dream to a family who other wise would not have any opportunity to succeed in home ownership? Mentor youth and students from McCaskey in learning a life long building trade? Helping disadvantage youth gain experience and job opportunities before graduating high school or being accepted to one of the local trade schools?
We work with 16 youth from McCaskey 4 hours a day for 4 days per week. They get hands-on learning and experience with all of the trades. When we first started working with McCaskey in 2013, only 5 students were in the program and only one student went on to work after high school. Today we have 16 students in the program and 98 percent either have employment or have been accepted into one of the trade schools prior to graduation!
Would you like to help gentlemen who made a bad decision and had to spend some time in Lancaster county prison get back on their feet? Would you be willing to mentor them in building or business trades or give them a second chance through your business? IMPACT! Missions has worked with over 150 LCP inmates through the community work release program. The gentlemen come out with IMPACT! during the day and help us at the store, rehab homes, or help homeowners have a warm, safe, dry home. We provide a hearty lunch and drive them from site to site. There have been many great testimony opportunities during van rides and breaks during the work day. We helped 12 gentlemen find wage sustaining jobs and supported 8 that started their own business. All of the gentlemen are still employed or operating their business despite the covid shutdown.
